Suzuki factory is obviously not making the mufflers themselves. Like most other companies, they by parts, specially designed, from other companies that are specialized in f.ex. mufflers.
I have made the Hartman mods to three different mufflers, all "original". The differences are very small. My own had welded endplate, most I have seen are riveted, and the size of the hole in the endplate differes a bit, just like yours, William.
If you want a softer, deeper sound, like that of "ancient thumpers from our youth" (sniff) do the Hartman mods. You won't be disappointed !
